Initiatives for Local Communities and the Local Environment

We are expanding activities within the company to protect the environment of Kyoto, and extending those activities to the global environment.

Specific initiatives
KES(Kyoto Environmental Management System Standard)
Commitment
By achieving the following five key themes, we are committed to engaging in environmental activities under the KES in order to maintain KES STEP2 certification.
(obtained in January 2021, STEP1 certified)
(obtained in July 2023, STEP2 certified)
Five Priority Items
  • (1) Reduction of paper usage (Including all types of paper, not just office paper)
  • (2) Promotion of modal shift (Reducing air transportation volume)

Eco-friendly Product Development

We are procuring raw materials sustainably, developing eco-friendly products, and contributing to ethical consumption, which enables us – working with customers – to take action on environmental problems.

Sustainable Label Certification acquisition
Commitment
We are developing products by procuring raw materials sustainably that take into account environmental and social impact, as well as biodiversity. We are also working toward official certifications and to put sustainable labels on products, thereby promoting ethical consumption and raising awareness among both buyers and sellers of the products that our products do not burden the environment and are socially sensitive.

Initiatives for Women’s Health and Active Participation in Society

We try to create a workplace atmosphere that allows women to fully demonstrate their capabilities and individuality, and raise awareness to foster female leaders.

Company recognition for promoting women in the workplace (L-Boshi mark)
Participation in the Pink Ribbon movement
Commitment
We aim to receive the L-Boshi mark for being a woman-friendly workplace – a certification from the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare awarded for conforming to criteria set forth in the Act on the Promotion of Female Participation and Career Advancement in the Workplace.

Workstyle and Parenting Support

We provide a work environment that offers flexible working styles for employees to balance work with life events, and take measures that allow employees to demonstrate their capabilities and maintain motivation to keep working.

Specific initiatives
Company recognition for promoting parenting support (“Kurumin” mark) certification
Commitment
We aim to receive the “Kurumin” mark as a company that supports parenting, awarded for conforming to criteria set forth in the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation Children, such as creating and implementing an action plan that allows employees to manage both work and childcare.
Certification criteria
  • (1) Percentage of women taking childcare leave
  • (2) Average monthly hours of overtime and weekend/holiday hours per employee
  • (3) Percentage of men taking childcare leave

Countermeasures for Natural Disasters and Other Emergency Situations

We are preparing seriously for the possibility of an unexpected emergency such as an accident, natural disaster, or infection outbreak to protect our employees and enable steady business continuity.

Specific initiatives
Formulation of a Business Continuity Plan (BCP)
Commitment
We are formulating a strategy for responding to the interruption of business due to an accident, natural disaster, or other incident. We will create a plan to shore up our business continuity in the face of an infection outbreak, earthquake, or storm bringing high winds or heavy rain, and will get business continuity strengthening plan certification from the government (METI).
